Dokes Design Architecture, LLC. (DDA), a growing firm, is seeking a creative, and highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Technical Designer. The ideal candidate is a mature project leader with strong technical skill who can lead a project independently. They will consult with client and stakeholder groups, coordinate document production, coordinate project sub-consultants, and oversee timely completion of a project.  The candidate will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of an architectural project.

Job Details:

  • Work closely with firm leaders to develop a design concept and oversee the technical documentation of the project.
  • Documentation coordination with project consultants.
  • Coordinate project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with team for innovative design solutions.
  • Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks.
  • Responsible to delivery of documents with design intent and high quality
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site review.
  • Process submittals/substitution and RFIs.
  • Interface with building permitting officials during plan review and construction phase.
  • Contribute to the financial wellness of the project.
  • Establish and maintain on-going productive client relationships.
  • Day-to-day coordination with consultants and/or firm leaders through all phases of work.
  • Responsible for applying the design concept to the design and detailing the building, delivering the project documentation, and overseeing the project through construction administration.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited school.
  • 5-7 consecutive years of experience practicing architecture as a Technical Designer, ideally on workplace interior, commercial office buildings, multi-family, and mixed-use projects.
  • Registered Architect (or in process).
  • Committed to high quality design, craft, technical excellence, exceptional detailing through documentation, and professional delivery of projects.
  • Familiar with the terms and responsibilities of professional agreements with owners, construction managers, partner firms, consultants, and service providers.
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, Sketchup, Adobe CS, AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Understand the application of industry standards, code regulations, and project process.
  • Quick learner and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.
  • Working knowledge of building code, standards and building structures.
  • Collaborative and team conscious.
  • Have ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new relationships through successful project delivery.
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
